about

The track describes a tragic story about a WW1 soldier, who undergoes an enormous mental collapse from both horrendous leadership and through the cruel cold of winter. In a freezing forest, this soldier finds solace in the thoughts of his life after the war, thoughts that would prove themselves to be a veil of a gruesome reality. Yet another useless charge, bullets strafing closeby, frost gnawing and gnashing at the bone. Lastly, a choice between an immediate death, or to wither away in the barren cold. Whimpers become fear, fear turns to panic, then to numb apathy - and it is in the apathy that the world falls under for the soldier. The soldier goes hiding, and freezes to death on the taiga floor.

This story is dramatised over a longing intro, that in a nearly linear development charges towards desperation and miserable regret, where the vocals tell the story and the music emits its colours.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Enduring folly
Blended culling
Narrow falling
Callous crawling

I'm only holding on to a normal life
I'm holding on to the brightest nights of my sombre drive

Prosperity, fumble to death
Ambitions are enough for me
Stay close to my dreams
Straying further away from grief
Touched by familial hands
And burnt by the cynical minds of liars
Affiliate, go then to drown in a cataract
To see what accolades await
Impoverished shone the years you gave

Sense poverty, writhe on the crest
Indifference cower the best of you
Unto a shimmering loss
A reverence to behold
the sight of a mental rebirth
Oh how you'll freeze on the taiga floor
To be held by the woods

Follow, bleed high
Let the tourniquet hang through his flesh
Marrow greed fly
Poisoned, the wounds in his spine
Wallow, knee grind
Let him stumble and fall down in a crawl
Tail low, full bind
In the void of his own he will bawl
